NCRF chairperson Vusumuzi Sifile says there is need for urgent action to curb “this pervasive issue” and ensure wrongs are not only acknowledged but rectified.
Mr Sifile said perpetrators of the vice should be held accountable and brought to justice to safeguard the well-being of children.
He said this yesterday during a media briefing in reviewing implementation of children’s rights in 2023 and stakeholders’ recommendations for next year.
“We need to work to work together to do comprehensive awareness campaigns to educate the public about the signs of abuse, reporting mechanisms and importance of community involvement in protecting children,” Mr Sifile said.
