Side-chick among arrested ‘killers’ of Tasila’s husband

POLICE in Sinda District of Eastern Province of Zambia have apprehended four suspects in connection with the alleged murder of 50-year-old Julius Mwale who authorities say was discovered lifeless on Sunday morning around 02:00 hours.

Confirming the apprehension and detention of three men and a female, Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba says postmortem results have shown that 50-year-old Julius Mwale was murdered using an unknown instrument.

Mweemba narrates that, the deceased was found outside his 48-year-old girlfriend, Anna Mwale’s house on April 12.

“A docket of murder has been opened and the following people who were last seen with the deceased who are: Aaron Mwale aged 36yrs, , Richard Phiri aged 35yrs, Gezani Banda aged 39yrs, and Anna Mwale aged 48yrs, have been picked and detained in Police Custody to help with Investigations,” the Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer shares.

Yesterday, TV Yatu ran this story, where Commanding Officer Mweemba stated that the deceased Mwale left home on Saturday April 11, telling his dear wife Tasila Tembo that he had gone to do piece work with his friend Gezani.

Mweemba further shared that, in the company of his friend, the deceased visited his girlfriend where he and others drunk beer.

Hours after, Julius Mwale was discovered lifeless.

It was then suspected to be a case of poisoning owing to statements given to Police alleging Anna Mwale had served his lover, a locally brewed beverage called, “skol”.

However, after the postmortem was conducted yesterday on the remains of the deceased, it was established that, actually, the late was murdered using a yet to be established instrument.

Mweemba says the four shall remain in custody as investigations to establish circumstances of Mwale’s death advance.
