Outspoken UPND Media Director Mark Simuwe has challenged Civil Society Organisations opposed to the term limit debate to come to a roundtable instead of taking to the streets.

Simuwe said the street does not enact laws and Parliament is not on the street.

“Let CSOs come for debate about term limit, not taking to the street. The street does not enact laws and parliament is not on the street; it debates motions,” he said.

His remarks come amid renewed debate over constitutional amendments, with some CSOs threatening protests over alleged plans to extend presidential term limits.

Simuwe said any concerns about term limits should be raised through proper legislative channels where motions are debated and voted on, not through street pressure.

He urged CSOs to engage constructively and present their arguments in Parliament and other dialogue platforms rather than mobilizing public demonstrations.
