TEAM JUDO READY FOR THE AFRICAN GAMES

As the African Games draw near, Zambia’s judo team stands ready to make a mark on the continental stage after months of preparations.

Mathews Punza, the National team coach has expressed confidence in the team stating that the team of Judokas will perform to their best of their ability to make the country proud
following the tireless efforts put in trainnings.

The team has been in training after the conclusion of the commonwealth games which has served as non residential camp trainings and transitioned into residential camp training on the 23rd of February, 2024.

The team consists of a balanced roster of talented Judokas, 3 Male and 3 female athletes; Elizabeth Mubila,-52 kg, Cheluse Phiri, -57kg Taonga Soko, -63kg, Simon Zulu, -60kg, Steven Mungandu, -66kg and Andrew K. Sande -81kg.

Armed with skill and determination, the team will depart for Ghana on the 8th of March, 2024 with the judo team manager and General Secretary, Mr. Mabvuto Ng’uni. Competitions are set for the 12th to 16th of March, 2024.
