November 9, 2023 – Police in Kanyama have arrested a 25 year old man for defiling a girl aged 13 of Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound.

Brief facts of the matter are that on November 7, 2023, at around 18:00 hours, the victim who was in the company of a friend was sent to Masauko Market within Kanyama by her mother.

Whilst there, they came across a group of male adults who were drinking beer at a named bar.

Among the group, male Julius Kalola, aged 25 of the same compound, decided to follow the girls behind and managed to get hold of the victim. He took her to his house and defiled her.

Upon seeing that the friend was forcefully taken, the friend rushed home and reported to the victim’s mother about what had transpired.

The victim’s mother rushed to the suspect’s house and decided to report the matter to the Police who issued a medical report to the said victim.

Police visited the scene of crime and managed to apprehend the suspect.

The suspect is in custody waiting to appear in court.
