Zamtel Board Unveiled

Lusaka, 9th November, 2023 – Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Cornwell Muleya has unveiled members of the ZAMTEL Board. The board members unveiled are:

Mr. Anthony Undi – Board Chairperson
Dr. Chiara Chiumya – Board Member
Mr. Lukonga Lindunda – Board Member

Together, the newly appointed board members have a wealth of experience in accounting and financial management, corporate governance and innovation and technology.

Speaking during the inauguration of the board, Mr. Muleya called on the newly unveiled board members to tap into their diverse wealth and expertise to change the trajectory of Zamtel.

He described the board inauguration as the beginning of an exciting journey for the company, while reminding the new board members that the IDC and the team at Zamtel were looking to the board to steer the company to success in a rapidly changing telecommunications landscape.

Meanwhile, newly appointed Zamtel Board Chairperson Anthony Undi assured the IDC Group CEO that the board would use its mix of skills, experience and perspectives to enrich its decision-making.

He further assured management of the board’s support and guidance, urging them to pull in one direction with the board. Mr. Undi expressed awe at the growth the company recorded since undertaking its turnaround strategy in July this year.

Zamtel recorded revenue growth of 31% in the turnaround period, from July to date. This is compared against revenue recorded between Q1 and Q2.
