Chiansi Outgrower Small holder Support Project (COSP) has procured and handed over 9 motorbikes to Kafue town council under its project implementers in the departments of agriculture, health, community development, education, water and infrastructure.

COSP refers to an irrigation project supported by government with intentions to develop an irrigation scheme covering 600 hectares in the Chiansi area, Kafue district.

The project additionally seeks to improve the agricultural output of smallholder farmers by providing a sustainable commercial farming infrastructure; hence contributing to income generation and job creation.

COSP further intends to construct a bulk water supply network and pump stations to abstract water from the bulk water infrastructure.

To this end, the 9 motorbikes babe been handed over with an intention to ease service delivery to the project areas lying in Chikupi and Magoba wards.

The project comes with other sub-components that include the completion of the District Agricultural Coordinator’s (DACO’s ) offices, construction of ablution blocks in public places throughout the district, the completion of Chinsungwe rural health post, the construction of a storage shed and skills training center for 1500 youths in the project area, and many more.
