The Zambia High Commission in South Africa writes…
A Zambian businessman based in South Africa has been shot dead by unknown people who are suspected to have been trailing him.
The incident happened in the early hours of thursday December 1st.
Masauso Chisanga, 45, was shot Immediately after boarding a taxi on his way home.
The taxi driver attempted to save Mr. Chisanga’s life by rushing him to Hellen Joseph’s Hospital in Johannesburg where he eventully lost his life.
Aunty to the deceased, Lucy Daka, has confirmed the development to the Zambian High Commission in Pretoria.
The matter has since been reported to Randburg South Africa Police and investigations have been instituted.
And Zambia’s Acting High Commissioner to South Africa Ms. Inonge Mwenya says the Mission is saddened by the tragic death of Mr Chisanga and has offered her condolences to the bereaved family.
Ms. Mwenya says the Mission will keenly follow updates from the investigations being carried out by the police.
