Choma man commits suicide after stealing money

A 20-year-old man in Choma district, identified as Emmanuel Mutukwa, has committed suicide by hanging himself.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning at his sister-in-law’s house.

According to reports, Mutukwa stole K250 from his father’s shop on Saturday, which was meant for purchasing biscuits.

He then went missing until Sunday morning when he arrived at his sister-in-law’s house asking to rest.

While his sister-in-law was away at church, Mutukwa was found hanging in the bedroom by another visitor.

Southern Province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident and stated that no foul play is suspected.

The body was transported to Choma General Hospital for further investigation.
