*DISTRIBUTION OF FARMING INPUTS UNDER THE FOOD SECURITY PACK FLAGGED OFF*

The Ministry Of Community Development and Social Services, has officially flagged off the distribution of farming inputs for the 2022/23 farming season to all parts of the country under the rainfed cropping component of the Food Security Pack (FSP) programme.

This will result in over 200,000 poor and vulnerable, but viable farmers benefitting from the programme, which will undoubtedly enhance both domestic and national food security.

Minister of Community Development and Social Services, Ms. Doreen Mwamba who graced the occasion also disclosed that 40,000 beneficiaries equally benefitted from the wetland cropping programme which was flagged off in Western Province earlier this year.

“The New Dawn government has shown commitment in the implementation of Social Protection programmes which are aimed at improving the welfare and livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable households by allocating adequate resources” Ms. Mwamba said.

She further stated that emphasis had been placed on human capital development through the provision of equitable social protection programmes in order to reduce the vulnerability levels across the country.

Ms. Mwamba appealed to beneficiaries of various Social Protection programmes to utilize the support provided in a prudent manner.
