A 43-year-old driver from TAZ Haulage Company Limited in Mazabuka has been sentenced to 1 year imprisonment by the district Magistrate Court for stealing 20 liters of diesel.
This is in a matter where Evans Sununu was charged with theft by servant contrary to Section 278 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the case are that whilst acting together with others unknown on 10th December, 2023, Sununu did steal diesel from his company valued at K946.
When the matter came up for plea before Resident Magistrate Changa Chitabo, Sununu denied the charge, with the court eventually finding him liable.
