Mother of murdered maid testifies in court

The mother of the 14-year-old maid, who was allegedly murdered by a couple of Lusaka, has testified that the night before she died, her daughter told her that she had been beaten.

CONSTANCE MWELWA has told the Lusaka High Court that on the material night, the accused also called to complain that her daughter, JANET MPUNDU had become problematic and was stealing her child’s porridge.

Ms. MWELWA was testifying in a matter where MAJORY CHANDA and SMART MUMBA are charged with one count of murder.
