Media Self Regulation Council of Zambia (MSCZ) Chairperson Kennedy Mambwe has resigned with immediate effect.
Mambwe said his “current personal circumstances” do not favour him to continue serving as Chairperson.
“You will recall that the Media Self Regulation Council of Zambia was constitutionally scheduled to hold an elective AGM in August this year at which I didn’t intend to recontest. While the AGM is yet to take place, my current personal circumstances do not favour me to continue serving as Chairperson of the Council anymore,” he said, in a statement
“I, therefore, wish to tender my resignation with immediate effect.”

Mambwe said it was an honour for him to serve the media fraternity in Zambia and beyond, and to be part of the journey that established and institutionalised the MSCZ.
He has wished the organization many years of success ahead.
The resignation letter has been copied to the MSCZ Board, Media Owners Association of Zambia (MOAZ) and the Network of Independent Media and Community Association (NIMCA).
Mambwe was the founding Chairperson of the Council.
