The Zambia Police Service has appealed to members of the public to help identify the relatives of a man whose decomposed body was discovered inside a flat on Roan Road in Lusaka’s Kabulonga area.
According to a police statement issued by Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha, the discovery was made after a member of the public reported a foul smell coming from one of the flats at Plot No. 32, Roan Road.
The report was received at Woodlands Police Station on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at around 12:30 hours.
Police officers who visited the scene discovered the body of a male adult, estimated to be between 50 and 55 years old, lying face down in a decomposed state.
Preliminary investigations have established that the deceased lived alone, owned the flat where he resided and was not in formal employment.

Information gathered during preliminary inquiries indicates that the man was last seen about a week before his body was discovered. He reportedly appeared to be unwell at the time.
The body has since been deposited at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Police have not yet disclosed the cause of death, which is expected to be determined through the postmortem examination.
The Zambia Police Service is urging anyone who may know the deceased or have information that could help identify his relatives to report to the nearest police station.
The appeal is aimed at helping authorities establish the man’s identity and trace his family as investigations into the sudden death continue.
The statement was issued by Chipo Kaitisha, Public Relations Officer of the Zambia Police Service.
