The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has expressed concern over the continued detention of musicians Chester MoPower and Felix Ndangeni Inshila, saying the two artists have still not appeared before a court despite being held by authorities.
ZAM President Brian Bwembya, popularly known as B Flow, disclosed that the association is increasingly worried about the welfare of the two musicians as details surrounding their arrest remain unclear.
According to B Flow, Chester MoPower and Felix Ndangeni Inshila have not yet been taken before the courts, a development that has raised concerns within the country’s music fraternity. The association says it is closely monitoring the situation while seeking more information from relevant authorities.
The latest update comes days after Zambia Police confirmed the arrest of Chester MoPower, Felix Ndangeni Inshila and comedian IDC Light Comedy. Police previously indicated that the three had been charged with conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.
However, B Flow says the full circumstances surrounding the arrest and continued detention of Chester and Felix remain undisclosed.
The ZAM president emphasized that the association remains committed to protecting the welfare and rights of musicians across Zambia while maintaining cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
The arrest of the two artists has continued to attract widespread public attention, with many fans taking to social media to demand answers and call for due process to be followed.
Chester MoPower is one of Zambia’s most recognizable musicians, known for several popular songs that have earned him a loyal following over the years. Felix Ndangeni Inshila has also built a strong reputation in the local music industry.
The Zambia Association of Musicians has previously stated that it expected the detained entertainers to be released based on the nature of the charges that had been communicated by police.
Meanwhile, supporters and fellow musicians continue to await an official update from the Zambia Police Service regarding the status of the case and the reasons behind the continued detention of the two artists.
